Mansfield Centre Manager
Hello – I’m Catherine. I’ve been involved in Reach since 2007 in various capacities. My background is in business and finance but I have a disabled son and a brother-in law with Down’s syndrome and, for as long as I can remember, I have been involved in the field of disability. Being asked to manage and move our work forward at Reach Mansfield is an exciting prospect for me. Having lived in the town for many years, I feel passionately about the need for our work here and every day I see the difference we are making to the lives of our clients.
Reach Mansfield offers clients a variety of fun, challenging and stimulating activities that build confidence and encourage a healthier lifestyle.
Based at the St. John’s Centre, our five day service offers an exciting learning programme. Current weekly sessions include cookery, computing, dance and art.
Following our successful Reach Fitness programme, we continue to promote fitness and healthier choices through weekly activities and sessions. Our Fitness Projects include Active Me -which is part of a big community sports project run by Mansfield District Leisure Trust. We will also soon start a new diabetes prevention and information project.
Reach Mansfield sessions run from Monday to Friday.
Sessional rates vary. Adults with learning disabilities may be eligible to receive personal budgets from Nottinghamshire County Council to pay for sessions. From time to time we can offer places on funded projects at lower sessional rates.
